Reporting a concern

Learn how to report suspicious activity, unsafe conduct, misuse, or other platform concerns on CarePair, and what may happen after a report is made.

CarePair is designed to help people find and contact each other in a clearer, more structured way. Most conversations and connections on the platform will be straightforward, but sometimes something may not feel right. When that happens, it is important that users know they can raise a concern.

Reporting is there to help CarePair look into issues, respond where needed, and support safer use of the platform. It also gives users a route to flag behaviour or information that seems misleading, unsafe, abusive, or out of place.

What users should report

You do not need to be certain that a rule has been broken before raising a concern. If something seems suspicious, unsafe, or seriously misleading, it is better to report it.

  • a profile that seems false, misleading, or inconsistent
  • messages that feel threatening, abusive, sexually inappropriate, or pressuring
  • behaviour that raises a safety or safeguarding concern
  • attempts to obtain money, personal information, or documents dishonestly
  • misuse of private information or documents
  • spam, repeated unwanted contact, or suspicious account activity
  •  content that seems inaccurate, inappropriate, or against CarePair’s rules

Some concerns may be small and easy to resolve. Others may be more serious. Either way, reporting helps create a clearer route for review.

How to report a concern

If something happens on CarePair that worries you, try to report it as clearly and promptly as you can, by clicking the Contact Carepair button in your dashboard. Giving useful detail can make it easier to review what happened.

You do not need to write a long explanation. A simple summary is often enough, especially if it includes the key details.

  • which profile, message, document, or account the concern relates to
  • what happened and when
  • why it feels suspicious, unsafe, misleading, or inappropriate
  • any useful screenshots, message details, or other evidence you still have
  • whether there is any urgent risk of harm or immediate safety issue

CarePair is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, there is a serious medical emergency, or a crime is in progress, the right step is to contact the emergency services or another appropriate authority straight away.

What happens after a report is made

After a concern is reported, CarePair may review the information available and decide what action, if any, is needed. The response will depend on the nature of the issue, the level of risk, and what evidence is available.

In some cases, the next step may simply be to review the account or ask for clarification. In more serious situations, protective action may be taken while the issue is checked.

  • reviewing the relevant profile, message, document, or account activity
  • placing content or an account under review
  • asking for a correction, update, or explanation
  • limiting profile visibility, messaging, or document sharing for a period
  • suspending or closing an account where the concern is more serious
  • keeping a record of the issue and the outcome for safety, moderation, or compliance purposes·

CarePair may not always be able to share full details about what action was taken, especially where this could affect another person’s privacy, safety, or a wider review. Even so, reports can still play an important part in helping the platform respond appropriately.

Why reporting matters

Reporting a concern is not about overreacting. It is part of helping keep the platform accurate, respectful, and safer for everyone using it.

It can help highlight false information, stop misuse from continuing, and give CarePair a chance to step in where something may create risk for other users.

A few practical reminders

  • Trust your instincts if something feels wrong or unusually pressuring.
  • Keep communication in CarePair where possible, especially in the early stages, so there is a clearer record of contact.
  •   Be careful about sharing personal details too quickly.
  • Save useful screenshots or notes if you think you may need to report something later.
  • Report concerns promptly rather than waiting for them to get worse.

A clear reminder

CarePair can review concerns and take action on the platform where needed, but users still need to make their own decisions and checks before entering into any care, support, or working arrangement.

CarePair is a matching and introduction service, not an employer, agency, or care provider. Any arrangement is agreed directly between the users involved.
